Advoled was asked to propose a design solution to an issue where a bridle leg was clashing with a drainage downpipe.

The solution proposed was a bracket which off set the connection point from the wall. The design utilised the existing fixing as well as requiring an additional fixing. The additional bending moment that would have been applied to the fixings was counter acted by a leg on the bracket which transferred the load into the face of the building.

The bracket was designed in Autodesk Inventor where FEA was used to optimise the design prior to building and testing.
